History: When Arceus first sent Mesprit to the world, people felt emotions. The joys and sorrows of living washed over them and opened their eyes. Since that day Mesprit have always been in tune with the emotions of living things, whether Pokemon or human. The small Mesprit born on a warm April day was no exception. She hatched from one of three eggs created by Arceus himself, the other two being her brothers, an Uxie and Azelf. The three lived a nomadic life, traveling to different lakes around the different regions. Eventually, they decided to go their separate ways and to fulfill their purposes in life.

While her brothers had knowledge and willpower, Tamiami was more in tune with the emotional side of life. As she traveled, she saw different emotions and how they came about. Through these observations she was able to see what was good and what was bad. The birth of a new child. Being with friends and family. Finding love. These things made people happy, so they must have been good thing. On the flipside, she saw death. She saw disease. She saw fighting. These made people upset and angry. These had to be bad things. She believed her observations, perhaps oversimplifying it a bit. If it makes someone happy, it’s good. If it makes them sad, it’s bad. She traveled the world for years and saw nothing to contradict her knowledge.

As the times changed, so did her observations. She saw events that were in disagreement with what she knew to be true. People would do bad things; they would steal and hurt and kill. But, they were happy about it. Why would something that used to cause pain now bring joy? And the things that used to bring joy were now considered bad. A new child was dreaded, not celebrated. Some people falling in love was now looked down upon. Everything had reversed.

Why was this happening?! Tamiami couldn’t understand. And yet the emotions didn’t lie. People were happy and sad about all the wrong things and it was just making her head hurt! In her confused state she fled, traveling far from her former lake home. She didn’t know where she was going. She didn’t care. She needed to get away from the confusion. She flew for days, not stopping or resting for anything. Finally she came to rest at the bank of a river. She was exhausted, physically and mentally. And yet she was no closer to the answers that she wanted. What had happened to the world? Why were the humans like this now? It was then that she felt it. Light and warm and welcoming. It was happiness, and it was close. There, just beyond the river. A tunnel. That was where the happiness was. Soothed by the welcoming emotion, she flew towards it. Perhaps this was a place she could rest.

After living in Ondine for a while, Tamiami grew accustomed to the happy emotions of the legends around her. There was hardly any sadness, and if there was, it wasn't around for long. It truly was a paradise.

However, on a trip outside of the region to try and find her brothers, the Mesprit only made it a mile or so before she was struck by the emotions of the outside world. Sadness, anger, jealousy, rage. It stunned her and the sudden shock of such negativity drained her of much of her energy, forcing her to land by a polluted stream. Being in Ondine for so long had weakened her to powerful emotions like these. But what did that mean for her? If she couldn't go to the human world, she couldn't find her brothers and bring them to safety. And for that matter, as it was she couldn't get back to safety while she was this weak. Unable to do much else, she started to cry. Cry about how unfair it was. Cry about how the humans were doing bad things. Crying and wishing things in the world were different.

It was these wishes that attracted the attention of a nearby traveler. A Jirachi, still roaming around the human world. Hearing her story, he offered her the chance at her own wish: a way to make those wishes and more come true, and to not be affected by the negative emotions of the humans. Not really understanding what could happen, she accepted and made the wish with one of the wish tags. In a flash she herself became a wish Pokémon, free to travel the world without her weakness to emotions.

Extras/Fun Facts:
~ She still wears her rings around her 'tails.'
~ Since her attacks are new and more powerful, she doesn't have full control over them yet.
~ She still has quite a bit of hair, but it's usually tucked under her hat. (yes that is a hat)
~ The wish tags on her hat can be used to grant wishes. Used ones are replenished after she sleeps.
~ She can attack while asleep if she senses danger.
~ Tends to doze off at random times.
~ Now a VERY heavy sleeper, but she'll wake up faster if someone sings to her.
~ The scarf around her middle is for her third eye.
